The Helicopter

I have almost no words for this sex position, which is—hands-down—the strangest one I’ve ever seen. As the receiving partner gets gown on hands and knees, the penetrating partner hovers atop, penetrating them from a hybrid plank/handstand position. It’s unclear to me whether the partners stay static and simply thrust from this position, or whether they swivel their bodies to mimic the movement of a helicopter. Either way, the position is equal parts bonkers and intriguing—and it’s sure to have you breaking a sweat.

If you had told me when I started this blog that I would end up writing about my sex life, would I have believed you? Actually, yes!

Believe it or not, I started a blog back in uni under a pseudo name, Annie – after my middle name, which is Ann. The idea actually came from 90210 when Annie starts a sex blog under the name Annabel. And so I decided I would do something similar, writing very frankly about my sex life. Nonetheless this never came to fruition, as a 21 year old who had very little sexual experience and found the whole thing rather awkward to discuss (and still do) – the dream didn’t last long.

So why now?

So, I’m now 25 and engaged and feel slightly more confident and comfortable in this area. But honestly I just think something need to be said on this topic.

Being Ready: Confessions of a 20-year-old Virgin

I’ve found that being a virgin at 20 seems to warrant three types of general reactions:

  1. The nurse with wide eyes in the Sidwell Sexual Health Clinic congratulating me wildly, whilst I sat awkwardly waiting for her to give me my first pack of contraceptive pills.
  2. The immediate labelling of me as “frigid” or a “prude”, words to this day that I really fucking hate.
  3. Slight embarrassment/awkwardness, like the way people looked at me during my first game of ‘Never Have I Ever’ in Freshers’ Week, when I was the only one that didn’t drink to ‘never have I ever had sex.’

Throughout my teenage years, social prowess was defined by how many people you’d slept with, how far you’d gone, and at what age you lost your virginity. Even now, although it seems that nobody is bothered if you’re a virgin or not anymore, I find myself on automatic…

My husband and I have a good relationship. We communicate well, we enjoy each other’s company and we have fun together.  We also put up with each other’s crap. Or, rather, he puts up with my crap and I truly appreciate the fact that he is willing to do that. Any interface to the human body which begins to control/stimulate the sexual centres without consent will fall foul of the law around the areas of rape and sexual assault.  System X, in its attempts to develop stealth/infiltration version of the ‘Nobody’ exosuit also attempts to control/stimulate the genitals.  The purpose of which is to complete the replication of human behaviour, however, that does not excuse staff from the law.

This is not the only area where System X runs foul of the law, System X is also known for using controlled brain damage to socially engineer sexual encounters that can be leveraged to further isolate targets.  This extends to both children and adults.  This can be anything from a child with low impulse control whose actions cause splits within families, to partners who have their sexual centres stimulated, driving them into affairs and ultimately separation with the target.

Wild Sex in the Middle Ages

In the popular imagination, the history of sex is a straightforward one. For centuries, the people of the Christian West lived in a state of sexual repression, straitjacketed by an overwhelming fear of sin, combined with a complete lack of knowledge about their own bodies. In reality, the history of human sexuality is far more interesting and wild. Many prevailing presumptions about the sex lives of our medieval ancestors are rooted in the erroneous belief that they lived in an unsophisticated age of religious fanaticism and medical ignorance. While Christian ideals indeed influenced medieval attitudes to sex, they were rather more complex than contemporary prejudices suggest. Christian beliefs interacted with medieval medical theories to help shape some surprising and sophisticated ideas about sex, and a wide variety of different sexual practices, long before the sexual revolution.
